How do you navigate the Health Care System in Ocho Rios?
The large all-inclusive hotels have medical clinics on site at the resort.These clinics are often well equipped but may a little pricey.
There are numerous private doctor offices in the town as well as pharmacies. (almost every road has a doctor!) Be prepared to spend at least two (2) hours or more waiting though.
The main public clinic is the Ocho Rios Health Center (Mon to Fri 9-5) which is usually an extremely lengthy visit.
Of course, JENMED is the preferred choice for tourists who become ill while on holiday or vacation.
We provide hotel doctors on site, bringing concierge medical care to your hotel room.

Hospitals
There are no private hospitals in Ocho Rios and the nearest Public Hospitals are St Ann's Bay Hospital (15-20 minutes away) and Port Maria Hospital, St Mary (30 minutes away). These hospitals are type B hospitals and do not have certain specialized services such as Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, ENT, etc. They have XRays but not CT scanners.
The main private hospitals are in Montego Bay and Kingston.
Imaging
There are Xray, Ultrasound, CT Scan & MRI available as well at several private labs.
There are several Ambulance Service Providers who are proficient. Air Ambulance transfer may also be arranged.
